𝟏.𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒔:
Solayer is Solana version of EigenLayer. Solana is a high-performance blockchain protocol designed to enable scalable, user-friendly applications for the world.

Differentiating Solayer and EigenLayer.

Eigenlayer’s main goal is to spread assets to cross-chain bridges, sequencers, oracles, etc. However, Solayer’s main goal is to provide faster inclusion of blocks and better user experience for projects in the Solayer ecosystem.

In Eigenlayer’s model, these systems each have their own network and run on the main chain (Ethereum in the case of Eigenlayer), where the staked assets are pooled. AVS can include cross-chain bridges, shared sequencers, and oracle networks, etc. Such systems are often called exogenous AVS.

Rather than focusing on exogenous AVS, Solayer aims to support endogenous AVS on the Solana blockchain. The goal of endogenous AVS is to provide on-chain decentralized applications (dApps) on Solana with larger secure block space and the possibility of priority transaction inclusion.

Solayer’s TVL changes:

Solayer launched the re-staking era on May 16, 2024, with the first era called era 0. Before the first era, nearly $23.5 million flowed in.

Era 1 began on May 27th, then paused before resuming on June 4th. During the two phases of Era 1, the total USD value and total SOL deposited into the protocol rose to $50 million and $360,000, respectively.

Era 2 began on June 20th, also prioritizing native SOL deposits, and ended up with a total USD value of $65.5 million and total SOL deposits of 462,000.

Currently, Era 3 is live, which began on July 1st, followed by the release of “Episode 1” or “EP 1” on July 2nd. EP 1, combined with the release of re-collateralized deposits, is where depositors can claim their rewards. At the time of writing, Solayer has surpassed $100 million in total deposits in less than 2 months after its launch.
